Why Start with a Personal Training Assessment?
Every great journey starts with a first step. At The Athleticus, that step is your personal training assessment.
Our assessment is designed to dive deep into you and your goals. It’s about giving you the clarity and confidence to move forward, safely and effectively. Most of our clients come to us because they’ve tried everything else. They’ve bounced between gyms, classes, and trainers, but nothing has stuck. Why? Because those options don’t account for what makes you unique.
When you start here, you’re investing in more than a single workout. You’re building a foundation for strength, balance, and resilience; results you can feel in your daily life, whether that’s climbing stairs, walking without pain, or traveling with ease.

The Personal Training Assessment Process
Our assessment is a structured, two-part process designed to give you answers, clarity, and a path forward.
PART ONE: One coach will spend a full session working with you to establish your current body composition (fat vs. muscle), mobility, and familiarity with fundamental movements.
PART TWO: The second session is led by a different coach to evaluate your current strength and endurance.
Our two-coach approach means you’ll be guided by certified trainers who bring different areas of expertise. One may specialize in corrective exercise for injury prevention, while the other focuses on strength or functional movement. Together, they provide a well-rounded, professional perspective you won’t find anywhere else.
What to Expect
in Your Assessment.
This isn’t a quick “fit test.” It’s an in-depth look at your movement, posture, and mobility. Our process is designed to give you a 360-degree view of where you are today and where you can go tomorrow. We identify problem areas before they become injuries and highlight the strengths that will help you progress faster.

The InBody 570 goes far beyond a bathroom scale. This scan provides your:
- Current amount of body fat
- Muscle mass and its distribution to see how strong and balanced your body is
- Hydration levels to identify performance or recovery issues
- Daily calorie burn to guide sustainable energy balance
- Visceral body fat to assess internal health risks
- Muscle imbalances that could lead to injury
This becomes your baseline, so every month you can see progress where it matters most.

Next, our trainers guide you through a full-body evaluation of strength, balance, mobility, and posture. This isn’t about how many push-ups you can do; it’s about how your body moves and where it needs support.
We’ll look at:
- How your joints handle everyday movements
- Where your balance may be off
- Which areas are tight, weak, or compensating
This helps us design training that meets you where you are, not where a generic program assumes you should be.

At The Athleticus, you don’t get one trainer; you get a team. Your program is developed collaboratively by both, giving you:
Varied expertise: One trainer may specialize in corrective exercise while the other has a background in strength and conditioning. Together, they provide the best of both worlds.
Scheduling flexibility: Two trainers mean more available time slots to fit your schedule.
Multiple perspectives: With two professionals reviewing your progress, you’ll always have a fresh set of eyes and thoughtful adjustments to your plan.
Together, these tools create a strong foundation for your personalized training program. One that adapts with you, supports you, and grows alongside your goals.

What You Gain From Our Personal Training Assessment
Choosing The Athleticus means choosing more than workouts. It means building a better life. Here are some of the benefits you can expect:
Expert Support: Our trainers are degreed, certified, and deeply experienced in corrective exercise, nutrition, and performance coaching. They’re here to guide and encourage you, not sell you quick fixes.
Personalized Training: We’re not a big box gym, we’re a private studio in St. Pete. We cap our client base at just 55 clients total. That means no waiting for attention, no competing with dozens of members, and no being left behind. You get focused, ongoing support.
Lasting Change: Our goal doesn’t end at surface-level results. Aesthetics may improve, but our true focus is helping you move better, feel stronger, and stay independent as you age.
Our program at The Athleticus isn't some generic six-week challenge. It’s about setting you up for a lifetime of health and confidence.
What Clients Ask Before Starting
Q: Will this aggravate my injuries?
A: No. Our trainers specialize in corrective exercise and are trained to adapt every movement to your limitations. The assessment is the first step in keeping you safe.
Q: I’m not trying to lose weight. Is this still for me?
A: Absolutely. Many of our clients train for balance, strength, and longevity. Looking better is a bonus, but moving better is the goal.
Q: Why two trainers?
A: We believe more perspectives equal better outcomes. With a dedicated coaching team, you get deeper expertise, more availability, and a more adaptable program.
Q: How long does the assessment take?
A: Plan for about 90 minutes, including an advanced body composition scan, movement evaluation, and trainer matching process.
Q: What happens after the assessment?
A: If you choose to continue, you’ll move directly into your customized personal training program with your matched trainers.
Take Control of Your Fitness Journey
