Our Movement Assessment consists of taking you through a series of basic movements in order to find a good starting point for your program. These basic movements include squatting, single leg work, pushing, pulling and many more.  It is recommended to wear comfortable clothing. The same type of clothing you would wear to work out or go on a run. Bring comfortable workout shoes as well. We do allow our clients to workout barefoot or in socks. Our gym is well ventilated but as you know how Florida weather can be, dress accordingly to the weather that day. Bring an extra change of clothes just in case you want to change after potentially sweating. Consider the Movement Assessment as an easy workout.

When working out we usually recommend athletic shoes that you personally find comfortable. If you have a previous history of ankle or knee injuries, we recommend wearing athletic shoes that offer good ankle support. However, we personally encourage working out in minimalist shoes or even barefoot. The reason for this is because working out barefoot will challenge your foot muscles and your body will rely on them for support rather than having an external support like a shoe. Working out barefoot or with minimalist shoes will allow our millions of sensory receptors in the bottom of our feet to actually FEEL the ground better allowing your brain to communicate better with stabilizing muscles when working out. If you are new to working out barefoot or with minimalist shoes, we can guide and help.

We offer a completely free No Sweat Intro. A No Sweat Intro is a reserved time to visit us at the studio and chat with one of our top level coaches. It gives you an opportunity to tour The Athleticus, check out the vibe, and see if we can be a good fit together. In this 30 minute chat, we will go over your goals and discuss how we can help you achieve them. It’s called No Sweat because you won’t be getting sweaty – it’s an informal goal review and not a workout.
